What Ingro Sims stores, and why
Last updated 23 August 2026
What we collect
Only what the product needs to work:
- Your account. Name, email address, company and phone number, taken from what you enter when you complete your profile, and from your Google account if you sign in that way. Sign-in itself is handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your password.
- Your projects. Site details, tariffs, load and generation inputs, the consumption data you upload, saved scenarios and the results computed from them.
- Your branding. The logo and contact block you set on the Branding page, which are printed on reports you export.
- Billing records. Plan, dates, invoices, and the payment screenshots you attach when you request activation. Screenshots are stored in private cloud storage; only Ingro staff verifying that payment can open one.
- Usage measurements. Page views and basic device information through Firebase Analytics, and a record of how your account uses the product: when a project is opened, when a report is exported and which one, and when you open the plans or checkout pages. If you reached us through a marketing link, the code it carried is stored against your account so we know which channel introduced you. These say that something happened and when — not what you typed. We use them to see which parts of the product are used and where people get stuck, and we do not sell or share them.
- Support conversations. Anything you write to us through the help form, along with the message thread it belongs to.
What stays on your device
Your theme, language, text size, motion preference and sidebar state are kept in this browser's local storage. They are never sent to us, never attached to your account, and are different on every device you sign in from. Clearing them from Settings clears them everywhere they exist.
Why we hold it
- To run the product: without your projects and profile there is nothing to show you and nothing to print on a report.
- To bill correctly and to prove a payment was made and verified.
- To answer your support questions with the context of what you were doing.
- To improve Sims — which parts are used, where people stop, what breaks.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your project inputs or consumption files to advertise anything to you or to anyone else.
Who else can see it
Your projects are visible to you and to Ingro staff who need access to support your account. Beyond that, the only third parties involved are the services that run the product: Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, analytics) and our email provider for the notifications Sims sends you. Each processes data on our instructions, not their own.
We will disclose data where the law requires it, and we will tell you when we are allowed to.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Projects and account records are kept while your account is active. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and company law requires, which is longer than the account itself. Delete a project and it goes; ask us to close your account and we remove the rest, except what we are obliged to retain.
Your choices
- See what we hold: your profile and projects are visible in the app; write to us for anything else.
- Correct it: edit your profile and project details directly, at any time.
- Export it: reports and project data can be exported from within Sims.
- Delete it: delete individual projects yourself, or ask us to close the account entirely.
Security
Access to your data requires signing in, and every request the app makes is checked against your account on the server rather than trusted from the browser. Payment screenshots and branding files are stored privately and reached only through short-lived signed links. No system is perfect; if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you what happened and what we did about it.
Changes and contact
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are announced in the app. Questions, corrections and deletion requests all go to contact@ingroenergy.com.
